Let’s go to the Jackson Pollock Art Gallery 🎨

Grade 3 learned how to create an Abstract action painting inspired by Jackson Pollock. They learned how to critique their artwork as an artist and a viewer. This was part of their Aesthetics PYP UOI Unit. They are ready to go on their field trip now to view artworks of the Expressionist movement 🖼️🤩

🌈ROYGBIV 🌈

After learning about ROYGBIV singing and dancing around the art room my tiny artist created these wonderful multimedia rainbows 🌈

Pop Art Inspired Neon Tiger

Guided drawing on how to draw a Tiger.

Students trace their tiger using a sharpie so they will be able to see their black lines through the paint.

Students then paint the entire background of their canvas.

Once the paint dries students then paint their Tiger using black acrylic paint.

While waiting for paint to dry students brainstorm and sketch on black paper headphones, mustache, bows, ties, glasses, etc. to add to their final piece with glue.

The last step is using a Pollack technique splashing paint specks to the canvas as well as the dripping paint on the top.
