Hundertwasser Grade 1

Students learned about Austrian Artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. They used his harmonious landscapes as inspiration to create their own paintings. Mixed media used were: oil pastels, watercolors, and colored construction paper. Students were encouraged to use swirl lines, and bright colors to represent Hundertwasser eccentric personality. They nailed it 🎯 ❀️🎨

Beach πŸ– Penguins πŸ§

Students learned foreground, middle ground and background in this Multi-media project. They began with a guided drawing activity of their penguins. Students then collaged their beach backgrounds with colored construction paper and drew their beach details in their β€œsandscape”. Last students cut out and glued their penguins🐧 to the foreground.

Africa πŸ¦’πŸ˜πŸ†πŸ¦›πŸ…β€οΈπŸŒ

Grade 4 learned all about Africa from the textiles in their traditional Kente Cloth clothing to the infamous African Safari animals.

Students learned what each color represents in the Kente Cloth and selected the colors that best represent them. They learned how to weave and how to use patterns, shapes, and lines to design their Textiles.

Lastly they incorporated yarn into their weavings. We had so much fun learning about this beautiful continent.

🌈ROYGBIV 🌈

After learning about ROYGBIV singing and dancing around the art room my tiny artist created these wonderful multimedia rainbows 🌈

Pop Art Inspired Neon Tiger

Guided drawing on how to draw a Tiger.Β

Students trace their tiger using a sharpie so they will be able to see their black lines through the paint.

Students then paint the entire background of their canvas.

Once the paint dries students then paint their Tiger using black acrylic paint.

While waiting for paint to dry students brainstorm and sketch on black paper headphones, mustache, bows, ties, glasses, etc. to add to their final piece with glue.

The last step is using a Pollack technique splashing paint specks to the canvas as well as the dripping paint on the top.

Henri Rousseau Art Exhibition

An interactive Jungle of Animals.

The pictures do not do it justice. This by far is one of my favorite Art show themes.  The students loved seeing their Art projects come to life.
