Grade 3 learned how to create an Abstract action painting inspired by Jackson Pollock. They learned how to critique their artwork as an artist and a viewer. This was part of their Aesthetics PYP UOI Unit. They are ready to go on their field trip now to view artworks of the Expressionist movement 🖼️🤩

All About Me
This was an IB PYP Unit. My students took their time and learned so many elements and principles of art in this transdisciplinary unit. I’m obsessed 😍 Grade 4 & 5
Monsters Love Colors
After reading the book we went over our primary and secondary colors.
Students then became monsters 🤭and scribbled all over their paper using two primary colored markers to make a secondary color.
They saw the magic ✨when they added water and painted over their scribbled paper. Once dried we used the secondary color oil pastels and applied “Lines”.
Then we made the two colored monsters that made the secondary color or “Magic” happen.
A great layered lesson to introduce colors and lines.
