Hundertwasser Grade 1

Students learned about Austrian Artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. They used his harmonious landscapes as inspiration to create their own paintings. Mixed media used were: oil pastels, watercolors, and colored construction paper. Students were encouraged to use swirl lines, and bright colors to represent Hundertwasser eccentric personality. They nailed it 🎯 ❤️🎨

Beach 🏖 Penguins 🐧

Students learned foreground, middle ground and background in this Multi-media project. They began with a guided drawing activity of their penguins. Students then collaged their beach backgrounds with colored construction paper and drew their beach details in their “sandscape”. Last students cut out and glued their penguins🐧 to the foreground.

Welcome to Art Class with the Amazing Art Teacher

Here is one of my many animated introductory lessons. Students love my Bitmoji. My videos are great to increase student engagement, motivation and enhance learning.

Landscapes

Here is an animated Video I created with my Bitmoji to help my students learn about landscapes with a cool song to help them remember where and how to place objects in the Foreground, Middle ground, and Background. I also teach them a cool dance along with learning the song 🎵 💃🏽🎨❤️

Geometric Cats

My first grade did an amazing job drawing their cats and adding geometric shapes in the background.

They developed skills in flow drawing which is an art technique developed by artycrafykids.com to encourage children to understand shapes and create them in a freer way.

Students were encouraged to discover a natural flow, bringing mindfulness to the creative process.

Students enhanced their drawing by adding personality and geometric shapes in the background.

Students experimented with a mixture of mediums.

You can find more about this lesson including video tutorials at http://www.artycraftykids.com they have amazing art lessons to encourage students to express themselves creatively and artistically. ❤️🎨

Monsters Love Colors

Grade 1 Monsters ❤️ Colors:
After reading the book we went over our primary and secondary colors.
Students then became monsters 🤭and scribbled all over their paper using two primary colored markers to make a secondary color.
They saw the magic ✨when they added water and painted over their scribbled paper. Once dried we used the secondary color oil pastels and applied “Lines”.
Then we made the two colored monsters that made the secondary color or “Magic” happen.
A great layered lesson to introduce colors and lines.
