Welcome to Art Class with the Amazing Art Teacher

Here is one of my many animated introductory lessons. Students love my Bitmoji. My videos are great to increase student engagement, motivation and enhance learning.

Andy Warhol โ€œCampbellโ€™s Soupโ€ Pop Art

Grade 4 students learned about Andy Warhol and his contributions to the Pop Art movement. Students learned why Warhol was inspired by Campbellโ€™s soup and used it for his print making technique.

Students learned about form and how to draw using this element. Students began by designing their Campbellโ€™s soup can. Some invented their own flavors and ingredients. They then created a 3 dimensional can using foil and label. Students were encouraged to focus on their design, letter placement and image to grab the attention of the consumer. Lastly students created ingredient labels and placed them on the back of their cans.

This project included both elements of art and principles of design.

Landscapes

Here is an animated Video I created with my Bitmoji to help my students learn about landscapes with a cool song to help them remember where and how to place objects in the Foreground, Middle ground, and Background. I also teach them a cool dance along with learning the song ๐ŸŽต ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŽจโค๏ธ

Pop Art -Andy Warhol Prints

My Grade 4โ€™s created Andy Warhol inspired prints of themselves using transparency paper and neon acrylic paints. I took their selfies and printed them out. They then made a stencil of their portraits and used contrasting colors to paint the positive and negative space of their images. My Grade 3โ€™s helped by painting the Jackson Pollock inspired background. We then incorporated the PYP Learner profile for our lobby display. โค๏ธ๐ŸŽจ

Astronauts in Space

Grade 4 learned how to draw an astronaut through a guided drawing tutorial from Art for Kids Hub YouTube channel. Students then developed skills in drawing and blending using chalk and oil pastels as they created an outer space background on construction paper. Once students finished their backgrounds we mounted their astronaut using card stock and mounting tape to give it a 3D effect. ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿš€โ˜„๏ธ๐Ÿ’ซ

Emojis

Grade 2 Students learn about emotions and how color can be used to express different emotions. In todayโ€™s world Emojis are used to communicate rather than words. Students really grasped the concept and drew different emojis and colors to express how they were feeling ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ˜œ
