I had the pleasure to watch one of my talented Amazing Artist create this masterpiece π€©. She is only in Grade 10.
High School Students learned about surrealism and the work of Salvador Dali. They looked through magazines and chose two unrelated pictures and combined them to create a drawing inspired by surrealism artists.
Students learned about American Artist Claes Oldenburg. They created Hamburger π collages inspired by Oldenburg. Students used a variety of materials to create their toppings, they were encouraged to think out the box and recreate their favorite foods as hamburger toppings some included ice cream π¦, chicken π, egg π³, pizza π, sushi π£, and more.
Students then glued their creations on a paper plate and made a red and white paper weaving tablecloth as the final touch.
Grade 5
Demonstrated how to draw a slice of cake Students then designed a slice of cake drawing it with appropriate perspective and proportion.
After studentsβ drawings were done they began assembling and sculpting a 3D version of their cake using cardboard and paper mache techniques.
Students learned how to make and mix ingredients for paper mache sculptures.
Last students painted and decorated their cakes bringing their drawings to life! π° Good enough to eat ππ
Students learned about American artist Wayne Thiebaud and his contribution to the Pop Art movement. Students created paper mache donuts inspired by the paintings of Thiebaud. Then students did a observational drawing of their donut. As a pre- assessment Students were not given any direction on their drawing, simply to draw what they see.
Later I demonstrated how to draw a still life using appropriate perspective and proportion and guided the students through their drawing. Students developed skills in blending and shading using oil pastels. Students were amazed by their drawing and how much their artistic skills progressed. Students were then asked to reflect on the project and their progression.
Teaching my Grade 5 how to sew and design costumes for our βWinter Concertβ! Students really enjoyed learning how to sew and bring their costume designs to life π π§΅ πͺ‘
Took students outside to collect leaves. We then analyzed the leaves looking closely at the lines, shape, form, and color. Students then chose a leaf to draw.

Students learned about Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky. Students learned about abstract art and how to express feelings through color, shapes and lines while listening to music for inspiration.
Students created a Kandinsky inspired painting using all elements of art in one composition.
Last students used yarn adding actual texture and emphasis to lines.
