Students began by drawing 2 cat silhouettes. We discussed how to create Zentangles using line patterns and how to create illusion designs. After students designed both cats they painted warm and cool checkered backgrounds. Lastly they mounted their cats on yellow paper and onto their checkered backgrounds. 😻🙌🏽
Students started with an eye study on how to draw realistic animal eyes. They used oil pastels for coloring. Students then began to paint on newspaper. Once dried students ripped and shredded the newspaper 📰 and glued onto their blank canvas.
Students then placed the eyes and nose over the newspaper and painted more in-depth details to create their cats and dogs. Multi step lesson with amazing results ❤️🎨😻🐶🤩
High School Students learned about surrealism and the work of Salvador Dali. They looked through magazines and chose two unrelated pictures and combined them to create a drawing inspired by surrealism artists.
Students learned about American Artist Claes Oldenburg. They created Hamburger 🍔 collages inspired by Oldenburg. Students used a variety of materials to create their toppings, they were encouraged to think out the box and recreate their favorite foods as hamburger toppings some included ice cream 🍦, chicken 🍗, egg 🍳, pizza 🍕, sushi 🍣, and more.
Students then glued their creations on a paper plate and made a red and white paper weaving tablecloth as the final touch.
