Monet WaterLily Pond

Monet Inspired WaterLily Pond by my Grade 1 and 2

  • Students learned about the artist Claude Monet
  • Students studied Monet’s “Waterlilies” and “The Waterlily Pond” artwork.
  • Students learned how to paint using Monet’s painting technique.
  • Students created their own version of Monet’s “Waterlily Pond” using painting, drawing and collage techniques

Claes Oldenburg Sculptures πŸ”πŸŸπŸ•πŸŒ­

Grade 5 & 6 learned about American artist Claes Oldenburg and his contributions to the Pop Art movement. They researched American foods and created clay sculptures.

They look good enough to eat πŸ˜‹

Warm & Cool Zentangle Cat Silhouettes

Students began by drawing 2 cat silhouettes. We discussed how to create Zentangles using line patterns and how to create illusion designs. After students designed both cats they painted warm and cool checkered backgrounds. Lastly they mounted their cats on yellow paper and onto their checkered backgrounds. πŸ˜»πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Heather Galler inspired Bouquets πŸ’

Cats 🐱 & Dogs πŸΆ

This is one of my favorite lessons.

Students started with an eye study on how to draw realistic animal eyes. They used oil pastels for coloring. Students then began to paint on newspaper. Once dried students ripped and shredded the newspaper πŸ“° and glued onto their blank canvas.

Students then placed the eyes and nose over the newspaper and painted more in-depth details to create their cats and dogs. Multi step lesson with amazing results ❀️🎨😻🐢🀩

Personality Swirls πŸŒ€

Grade 5-6 did such an amazing job creating their personality swirls.

They were so focused on their patterns and designs. I am so proud of the outcomeπŸ€—β€οΈπŸŽ¨

Family Fun Day Cupcake 🧁 Making

I had a blast teaching my students and their families how to create cupcakes using modeling clay. So much Fun! πŸ€—

Surrealism

High School Students learned about surrealism and the work of Salvador Dali. They looked through magazines and chose two unrelated pictures and combined them to create a drawing inspired by surrealism artists.

The answer is NO πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ˜©

Claes Oldenburg πŸ”πŸŸπŸ•πŸŒ­Pop Art ~Grade 6~ Collage

Students learned about American Artist Claes Oldenburg. They created Hamburger πŸ” collages inspired by Oldenburg. Students used a variety of materials to create their toppings, they were encouraged to think out the box and recreate their favorite foods as hamburger toppings some included ice cream 🍦, chicken πŸ—, egg 🍳, pizza πŸ•, sushi 🍣, and more.

Students then glued their creations on a paper plate and made a red and white paper weaving tablecloth as the final touch.
